VANDERBILT JUGGLING AND PHYSICAL ARTS TO PRESENT
"JUGGLEVILLE II: SYMPHONY IN GRAVITY"
at the Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts
Friday, March 16 at 8 pm and on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - On Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, Vanderbilt Juggling and Physical Arts presents Juggleville II: Symphony in Gravity at the Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts. Juggleville II fuses juggling, live music, dance, and physical comedy in three unforgettable performances. Tickets are $5 for community members, $3 for Vanderbilt students, and are available in advance through Ticketmaster or at Vanderbilt's Sarratt Student Center.
The 40 member cast of Juggleville II portrays an unconventional orchestra inhabited by amusing characters, acrobats, and jugglers who create mesmerizing displays of changing patterns. Symphony in Gravity is the sequel to last year's hit show, Juggleville, which received enthusiastic reviews from audiences at sold-out shows.
"We have so many talented performers this year," said Li Zhou, co-director. "We want the show to be the highlight of everyone's spring season!"
The program offers an array of both student and professional performing artists, featuring collaborations with rhythmic gymnasts, percussionists, dancers, and musicians. New this year, all three shows will be broadcast live over the Internet. No other performance of this kind has ever been available to watch live from around the world.
Juggleville II will be at the Martha Ingram Rivers Center for the Performing Arts, 2400 Blakemore Avenue in Nashville, on Friday, March 16 at 8:00 pm and on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets will be available at the door or may be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster or at the Sarratt Student Center on the Vanderbilt campus. Tickets are $5 for community members and $3 for Vanderbilt students.
The McDonalds at Vanderbilt and the Vanderbilt University Office of the Dean of Students are the official sponsors of the production. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
